SOLAR LIGHTS

Using solar lights plays a major role in reducing the global carbon footprint. Solar LED lights utilize a technology that is renewable, decreasing the problem caused by the exhaustion of our planets resources. The advantage of solar lights is its’ cost, although the upfront cost may be higher than a standard fitting, a good quality solar light pays itself off over time.

Our range of LED solar lights have built-in motion sensors and photosensors to assist in the conservation of the battery by switching the light on, only when necessary.

Motion Sensors

A motion sensor is responsible for detecting motion in a certain range around the floodlight and turning the light on when motion has been detected.

Identify a place with ideal lighting from the sun. Position your LED solar light in a location where you desire to have extra lighting and to detect persons or objects moving at night or in the dark, but yet should be accessible to the suns rays.

Measure and mark distance from the ground to mount the bracket/pole. We advise 2-8 metres above ground (maximum depending on the model), mount on a solid surface capable of supporting the LED Solar Light and secure enough so that it will not move when exposed to vibration or wind. The unit must be high enough to allow for motion detection and even light distribution.

Before the solar LED light can operate to its full capacity, the solar panel needs to be charged in the sun for a minimum of 24 hours to fully charge the battery. To achieve this, press the button to switch the light “off”. After charging press “on”. By turning the light “on”, the light will automatically turn on at night using the 'day and night' sensor function. After automatically switching on during the night, the light will also activate the motion sensor head (the white ball on the light) it will increase the light output to 100% capacity.

Maintenance

Maintenance of your solar light is easy and only requires a few check-ups and cleaning throughout the year. A dirty solar panel will not fully charge the battery, which can cause the lifespan of the battery to be shortened. Ensure you clean the panel regularly with warm soapy water and a dry cloth – once every two months.

Storing your LED solar light

Before storing your LED Solar Light, it must be fully charged for 2 days and switched off. Store the light in a dry location, free of dust and debris. Please note, storing your LED solar light for a prolonged period may damage the battery, decreasing its performance.
