FRONT DOOR LIGHTING

Lighting at your front door serves several practical purposes: It acts as a beacon that shows people where to enter, it prevents tripping on steps, and helps locate the doorbell or keyhole. It also lets those inside the house see who is at the front door.

At your front door, pair two matching outdoor wall lights, on either side, for an inviting and well-lit entryway giving you and your guests added security and peace of mind when entering and leaving your home, while creating that warm and welcoming appeal.

When mounting exterior wall lights on either side of a door, position the fixtures at eye level or 1,5-1,65m from the ground. For the best spread of light, the fixture should be placed at least ΒΌ of the height of the door. Should you only have space for one, use the side with the keyhole and door handle in order to see your visitors faces when opening the door at night.

Should you prefer overhead light, you can make use of a downlight or an outdoor ceiling light. Alternatively, if you have the height, you can make use of an outdoor pendant. Whether you use wall lights, a pendant or both, choose designs that complement one another, preferably from the same lighting family that will enhance your home's overall outdoor style and theme. Ensure this space is brightly lit so the entry to your home is safe and secure.
